My Hometown

Three things to do in my hometown are:

  • Visit the beach
  • Visit the Gorge
  • Visit the glassblowing shop and green stone shops

  1. Hi Andrew!

These are some amazing photos of Hokitika! I have never visited before but looking at these pictures really makes me what to visit :)
I really like the photo you have picked of the town centre at night with the clock tower and mountains in the background! (Very beautiful!)

The gorge looks beautiful, I can't believe the water is that blue! Do you go there often? I am sure its a great swim spot to go to in the summer?

Is that driftwood sign for Hokitika on the beach permanently?
I would love to live closer to the beach, I really enjoy swimming in the ocean - Does the ocean get pretty big waves or is it calm?

Ooooooo I haven't heard about the glass blowing shop yet, that sounds really cool! Are you able to learn how to blow glass there too?
I think it would be a pretty cool skill to have!

You are doing a great job with your blog Andrew, keep it up!

  2. Hi Andrew

My name is Allie and I am the Cluster Manager for the Summer learning Journey in Toki Pounamu.
You are doing a great job making your way through the programme and I really like the effort that you have put into this post. The images that you have added really capture the great things about living in Hokitika.
The Hokitika Gorge is simply a stunning place to visit, and is somewhere I always recommend for people to visit.
I really like your beach too, its great.
The best thing about Hokitika over the Christmas period was the lights in the town. I thought that they just looked amazing especially the Christmas tree it really is beautiful.

Great work Andrew, keep up the good work and I will see you when I visit Kaniere School in February.

    Until then

    Allie :)
