Giants Among Us

I would like to visit Tane Mahuta because it reminds me of 'The Faraway Tree' which I read when I was little - it was a huge tree too.
I also like that kauri were perfect for ship masts and building.
I like forests (because of Rangers Apprentice) so I think I would like the walk to Tane Mahuta.
Also 1250-2000 years old is VERY old, it makes me think the tree is really special.

    You sound like are a great reader! As you compare all of the things about Tane Mahuta to books that you have read. I really like reading too.
    I am lucky enough to have seen this magnificent tree. It really is something you have to see to believe. It is truly amazing.
    The walk into the tree doesn't take long it is amazing how close the tree is to the side of the road.
    Hopefully that the disease that is effecting the kauri tress doesn't get too close to Tane Mahuta. It would be a shame if it did.
    You will have to put this on your list of places to visit.
