Duel at Araluen is the 3rd book in the Royal Ranger series which follows the Rangers Apprentice series.
Maddie is now the Ranger's Apprentice of Will (who the Ranger's apprentice series is about). King Duncan and Princess Cassandra are trapped in the South Tower of Castle Araluen guarded by the Red Fox Clan and Maddie needs to rescue them, to do that though she first needs to save Horace and Gilan.
She enlists the help of the Heron Brotherband and the crew of Wolfbiter.
This is the first time we have read about Hal and his crew out of Brotherband - another very good series that I recommend reading.
Will her plan work? You'll have to read to find out.
