Concluding the Journey

This is the final activity for the Summer Learning Journey. I feel like I have learned a lot about saving the world.

One thing I have learned from participating in the Summer Learning Journey this year is that there is a lot more pollution in the World than I thought! I feel like we are lucky in New Zealand as it doesn't seem as noticeable here as in big cities like Shanghai.

One thing that surprised me is that we might be able to have a predator free New Zealand by 2050!

One thing that concerned me is that I don't think people are making enough of a change to stop pollution and global warming. Something bigger needs to change.

One thing I can do to help protect our natural environment is pick up rubbish I see lying around.

  1. Talofa Lava Andrew,
Congrats on completing the Summer Learning Journey and learning a lot from it. I am happy that you are concerned because that means you are passionate about changing the world. I also think it is very good that you will pick up rubbish because a small deed can do a lot. Next time you can insert a picture of our problem to make people understand.

    Happy Blogging

  2. Hi Andrew

Congratulations for completing the Summer Learning Journey this summer. You have done a fantastic job with all of your posts. It has been really great to read your work over the summer.
All the SLJ team here in Toki Pounamu are so proud of the effort that you have put in. You should be proud of yourself too for everything you have achieved.
I hope that you have enjoyed doing the activities and that you have learnt something about the environment along the way. If we all do our part in taking care of the environment we will live in a better place.

I am looking forward to coming back to Kaniere School in February to hand out certificates and prizes. I hope that you enjoy the time left of the holidays before it's time to head back to school.

Well done Andrew and I will see you in February.

    See you soon

    Allie :)

  3. Hi Andrew!
My name is Florence, I go to Panmure Bridge School. Your blog post about the ending of the SLJ is great. I think you should work on making your answers to your questions more visible. I think you should put your answer in bold. What was the hardest thing about the SLJ? For me it would have been keeping up with the SLJ activities.
    Blog you later!

  4. Hello Andrew,

I'm Evelyn and I work with Allie, Ellee and Hasiba for the Summer Learning Journey 2018-2019. A big, big congratulations to you on making it to the end and completing all the activities, I hope you have had an amazing time and learnt many new things on this wonderful journey! I would like to thank you for sharing your experiences and knowledge with us all!

You have concluded the Summer Learning Journey with a wonderful reflection and I am pleased to know that you have obtained lots of new knowledge. You're absolutely right, we definitely are a lucky bunch of kiwis to be able to call New Zealand home! I also look forward to a predator free New Zealand in 2050. We all have a role on this planet and we can definitely play our part to make this place a little bit better each day. Picking up rubbish when you see it is an excellent start and a very good suggestion, well done!

May you enjoy the rest of your holidays and have a fantastic year at school!

I wish you all the very best,
    Evelyn :)
