Rivalry 1: Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo - Both are considered the best players of this decade and David Beckham said that when Messi and Ronaldo retire it will leave a big hole in the football world.
Rivalry 2: England Test Cricket vs Australia Test Cricket - Some of the best two test sides in the world these two teams are the only two teams to compete in The Ashes (A five game test series between the two sides) there is an intense rivalry between these two sides both are very sportsman like but the rivalry is still very strong. Part of this is because on the 1932-33 Ashes Douglas Jardine (The English Captain) instructed his bowlers to bowl leg theory but to bowl bouncers this resulted in many Australian players getting hit this style of bowling was called Bodyline this is part of the reason that the Ashes is such a rivalry.
Rivalry 3: Manchester City vs Manchester United - These is a very emotional game for both sets of players this match is called the Manchester Derby the players of each team might fall over and cry if they miss a penalty or the fans might start throwing things if a player gets a goal whatever the result this match is very emotional.
Hi again Andrew,
ReplyDeleteWow, I am impressed. You certainly know a lot of sporting rivalries and I can tell you are someone who knows a lot about sport.
That is an interesting comment by David Beckham. I don’t know much about football but I know that David is a very famous player but I am guessing he has retired now. I have heard of Messi and Ronaldo so it is interesting to now know how good they are at playing football, based off David’s comment.
Who is your favourite football player? Who is your favourite cricket player?
I am looking forward to hearing who your favourites are!
